Circle of Friends

Good books and good movies can nurture the hungry soul.  Like fine meals, they are best enjoyed among friends. St. Albert’s Circle of Friends gathers monthly to discuss a book or a movie These are alternated, so there are always two months to read each book. Check the website or bulletin for dates and information about the books and videos selected, or call Paula Horn. All are welcome to any or all gatherings. Circle of Friends generally meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:45 AM (movie) or 11:30 AM (book), with time for brown bag lunch discussion. If there is enough interest, it’s possible an additional group could meet at a different time.

“We are people who have a story, and through the Circle of Friends we read books and view movies; this enables the story of our lives to be told and shared based upon reading and viewing. Very much like the holy Eucharist.”

“Like good wine, good books and good movies are the catalyst that brings us together to tell our Stories.”

Ministry of Mothers Sharing

All mothers are invited to share in a MOMS journey. This 8 session program creates a confidential place for 8-10 mothers to come together for a couple of hours a week, share stories and pursue spiritual enrichment. The objectives of MOMS are:

♦ To gather mothers together to form a network of mutual spiritual support in a chaotic society

♦ To provide a group experience of learning, praying and ministering to each other

♦ To introduce mothers to opportunities of personal growth in a faith sharing group

♦ To increase communication skills and the use of prayer rituals in the home

“MOMS is an amazing program we have here at St. Alberts. In the midst of our busy lives as moms, wives, sisters, daughters and friends, it gives a wonderful opportunity to take a pause in life and reflect on where God is calling you in those roles. It was a great way to meet other Christian women from all walks of life and feel more connected to my parish. This program has given me a much need perspective and patience as a mother, reminded me of the importance of friendships and strengthened my spiritual life.”

“MOMS has been a therapeutic experience, especially the 8 week sessions, both as a participant and as a facilitator. Every 8 week session has been at a different period in my life, and I take away a new experience and meet some very special women.”

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is made up of appointed members who collaborate with and advise the pastor in creating a Catholic vision for the parish. The members initiate and oversee parish programs to see that they truly serve the vision and are linked to our Catholic identity. Members also serve as the ears for the parish thoughts and surface any major concerns that are in the parish mindset. Meetings are open to any member of the parish who wishes to observe or place themselves on the agenda to speak. If you have an interest in serving on the council please notify the pastor at his email address, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Meetings are generally held four times a year.
